Description
WindowsUnlocker is a program that blocks the user from accessing data or limiting the ability to work on the computer and demanding a ransom for returning the system to its original state.
To combat ransomware, Kaspersky Lab specialists have developed a special utility called Kaspersky WindowsUnlocker. The utility is launched when the computer boots from a special version of the Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 image and allows you to work both in the graphical boot mode of Kaspersky Rescue Disk and in text mode.
The Kaspersky WindowsUnlocker utility allows disinfecting the registry of all operating systems installed on the computer (including those installed on different partitions, in different folders of the same partition), as well as disinfecting custom registry branches. Kaspersky WindowsUnlocker does not perform any operations with files (you can use Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 to disinfect infected files).
